Our busy and energetic office needs someone with a drive and ambition to help us with administrative duties including filing, data entry, updates, project management, as well as obtaining permits.
Someone with a strong work ethic, who can follow instructions and give some as well, can work unsupervised, and be self-motivated.
As a Residential Building Permits coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of building permits for our residential projects.
You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including local government agencies, and internal teams, to secure necessary approvals and permits for construction projects.
Responsibilities:
Permit Processing:
Manage the end-to-end process of obtaining residential building permits, including the preparation and submission of required documentation.
Research and Compliance:
Conduct thorough research on local building codes, zoning regulations, and permit requirements.
Ensure all projects comply with applicable codes, building codes, regulations, and zoning ordinances, and standards.
Coordination:
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to gather necessary information and documents for permit applications.
Communication:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with local government officials and agencies.
Communicate effectively to address any inquiries or concerns related to permit applications.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of permit applications, approvals, and related correspondence.
Ensure all documentation is organized and readily accessible.
Problem Resolution:
Identify and address any issues or discrepancies in permit applications.
Work proactively to resolve challenges and expedite the permitting process.
Insert data by inputting text based and numerical information from source documents within time limit.
Verify accuracy and sort information according to priories to prepare source data for computer entry Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output Research and obtain further information for incomplete documents Apply data program techniques and procedures Respond to queries for information and access relevant files Assist in other office functions as needed
Qualifications:
Ability to do independent research to gain understanding of local building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes.
Technical skills:
Microsoft Office required.
Strong computer skills.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Organizational Skills:
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Problem-Solving:
Proven ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Software Proficiency:
Familiarity with relevant software and tools for permit processing and data entry.
Ability to prioritize and multitask Familiarity with administrative duties Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills Deadline and detail-oriented Typing speed and accuracy
Experience:
Previous experience in construction or building permits is a benefit.
