NWSRA provides outstanding recreation opportunities for people with disabilities within our partner Park Districts through weekly programs, adult day programs (PURSUIT), special events, summer day camps and inclusion in Park District programs.

Becoming a Driver for NWSRA's weekly programs and adult day programs is a great way to utilize your current skills, build relationships, learn new jobs functions, and inspire participants to grow and have fun.
As a Driver you will be responsible for the following tasks:
Drive agency vehicles while transporting and transferring participants.
Complete all required Driver paperwork and inspections.
Assist in cleaning vehicles and maintain contents.
Fulfill other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED To be a Driver you must be 21 years of age or older.
Have an interest or experience working with children and adults with disabilities.
Have a valid Driver's License, with no moving violations in the past 24 months.
CDL preferred but not required.
Certification in First Aid & CPR preferred.
Wiling to become certified required.
Pass a Drug Test, Driver Physical, Drivers' Abstract and Criminal Background Check.

Scheduling is assigned, based on your availability, at the beginning of each program season, yet hours are flexible and can be adjusted per season.
Reliable transportation is required to ensure attendance at all scheduled programs.
When committing to work in a program you must be able to work all program dates for the entire season.
NWSRA provides over 2,000 recreational programs annually, many emphasizing healthy living, fitness, imagination, community involvement and increasing life skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
